DO NOT GIVE UP, TAKE ON.

Do not give something up to challenge yourself, take something on! Religious or not, as we approach lent a lot of people start to decide what they should attempt to give up for the weeks ahead. Bread? Chocolate? Cigarettes? Alcohol? Meat? and so on. Usually it relates to diet but sometimes it relates to other things too. I tried giving up swearing once, failed miserably!

Anyway, how about a new approach? Rather than giving something up, take something on. If you like how your life is finely balanced right now and do not want to take something out of it (good sign) then why not add something in? My challenge is going to be to be able to hold a meet and greet conversation in Spanish! I know phrases and words but I cannot understand much said back to me so I am excited to learn. I’ll find myself a book/ app/ website or somebody who can speak the language to teach me.

Giving something up may not appeal to you so maybe it is time for you to add something in. If you are not somebody who challenges yourself often then this is a good opportunity to start to do so. Pick something, anything and devote 40 days to it! Learn about your ability to commit and achieve. Push yourself a little and see what happens. It is all part of the fun! Who knows, you may even find a new you in the process.

Challenging ourselves is important because we need to constantly test our minds and keep it as fresh and alert as possible. As I mentioned in my blog the other day about eating the same meal every day, it gets boring and it needs little thought after a while. You need to remain stimulated and this is a great way to ensure that you are!

TAKE SOMETHING ON.

Buenos Día, Hasta Luego!

 YOU’RE PERFECTLY CAPABLE.
