THE WORLD NEEDS ALL THE GOOD YOU CAN DO

A beautifully written quote by Jana Stanfield, ‘I cannot do all the good that the world needs but the world needs all the good that I can do’. The New Year, regardless of who you are, brings about a lot of reflection. I do not always look at the big things of last year and think what I can do to make this year better, sometimes I look at the small things that make the biggest difference. I have found that the more you work on making yourself a better person, the better the world around you becomes.

There is a few personal things that I want to work on this year that I think will make me an all round happier person. One thing I have started working on, which is not a quick fix but something I am habitually becoming aware of so that I can cut it out, is being influenced in conversation by others. For example, if somebody starts a conversation with you and brings somebody else up in a negative light, you may be more inclined to also speak about that person. I do not agree with, nor like, this at all and I do not want to be involved in it.

I notice it around me a lot too. People are swayed by the strong influence of others and it is a weakness many, including myself, have. I think this is a change that will make a massive difference in my life because it is one that requires inner strength and compassion. I notice how good I feel when I refuse to let myself get caught up in the opinion and negative thoughts of others. I have a habit of trying to turn everything positive and it is something I want to make more apparent this year.

I want to do my best to keep trying to bring good to the world by working on myself. If you do not know what good you can bring to the world, all it needs is for you to be a good person. Be understanding, giving, compassionate and gratuitous. The influence you have on those around you will become more positive and it will be refreshingly noticeable.

As Jana Stanfield said, ‘I cannot do all the good that the world needs but the world needs all the good I can do’. What good can you do? What can you bring to the table? Start by focusing on yourself and you will be steered in the right direction.

YOU’RE PERFECTLY CAPABLE.
