BE CAREFUL NOT TO KID YOURSELF

The last thing you want to do is live in such a way that your partial excitement for something to come makes what you are experiencing seem like less of a problem. Do you follow? For example, what if you were unhappy but there was something coming up in your life, whether it be an event or something similar, that you were excited by so the realisation of your current unhappiness is overshadowed by your eagerness to get to this said event.

You have to be very careful not to kid yourself and be sure to complete the brave act of checking in with yourself regularly. You do not want time to pass you by, incredibly quickly I might add, because you are living in anticipation of what is to come rather than taking today by the scruff of the neck and ensuring you are focusing on your happiness. Life should not be about looking forward to tomorrow, it should be about enjoying what you have today.

You can easily overshadow what is happening in your life by picking one thing to focus on, you can get by that way but, you are kidding yourself if you think that is how true happiness works. Especially for me, being 24, I want to focus on my life day to day and enjoy every aspect of it because I do not want to let time pass me by and all of a sudden I am 60-70 wishing I had appreciated what I had more.

Age is irrelevant here because it is never too late to love what you have but it is important that you do it immediately, if not sooner. Do not kid yourself into thinking you are happy because of partial excitements. Take a look at your day today, your life set up and ask yourself if it makes you happy. Forget what is to come and what you have over the hill, what have you got in front of you right now and is it serving you?

We all deserve to be happy and we should never settle for anything less than that. Make it immediate.

YOU’RE PERFECTLY CAPABLE.
