JUST DO IT

I love an audio book as well as podcasts and recently I have just finished Richard Branson’s biography, currently listening to David Goggins’ life story and excited to then hear about the journey of Phil Knight, Shoe Dog. What all of these men have in common is an understanding of the statement, ‘Just do it’, so much so that Phil Knight made it his brands slogan, yes, he is the founder of the worldwide known, Nike.

Richard Branson is the head of ‘Virgin’ and that is an umbrella to many businesses including airlines, trains, space ships, gyms, hotels, resorts and many more. If an opportunity comes along that he likes the sound of or if he gets an opportunity to create something, he does not hold back and he does it. He has over 700 people on a list to travel to space when his company is ready to perform the ground breaking act of taking everyday passengers to space. There is an example of how incredibly ambitious and inspired this man is.

David Goggins is a man who came from such a horrendous, gruelling, abusive, racism fuelled background and labelled himself the weakest man alive. He gave himself the task of becoming the toughest man alive and his story is one that will give anybody fresh perspective on how to handle themselves through life. David Goggins is somebody I learnt about only a year ago and have been obsessed with ever since because of his inspirational ‘get it done’ attitude.

Phil Knight, the man who founded Nike. I wonder if there is anyone in the world who does not know of or has ever heard of Nike before. From selling things out of the boot of his car to founding one of, if not the, highest grossing shoe brand in the world, he is a man who I cannot wait to learn more about. I love filling my mind with the stories and journeys of others to give myself fresh perspective, purpose and faith. The people I love to hear from most are those who realised that you have one shot at this and you may as well make it worth your time.
