MEANING OVER MONEY

Money is cool and someday it would be good to have unlimited amounts of it but right now and as I move through life, my sole focus will always be to find meaning in what I do, not money. If I wanted money I would have stayed in finance and worked my way through the ranks but I was not willing to give myself to that profession and lose my sense of self.

The time of the millennials is changing. We are an era of people who focus more on meaning than money and those who focus on money wind up in a position they do not really enjoy. Finding a passion, finding a purpose and living with faith in a meaning is much more beneficial and rewarding than doing it all for money.

To wake up every single day and a find a meaning in the first light, your first words and your first encounters for the day is what life is really about. To say that you do what you are doing to make money is demotivating and at some stage, that candle will fizzle out. You have to look beyond your want and need for money and find the route cause of your passion. Read on for a good example...

Every morning I coach people in the gym who then leave to get ready for work with the look of dread on their faces and the countdown until the weekend in their eyes. ‘It pays the bills’ they say. Well, whilst they are in the gym they love it, thrive off it and have such a passion for what they are doing because there is meaning to why they are there. Healthy lifestyle, competition, personal growth etc. Why not make a career out of that? Why do you have to think that there needs to be an off switch on those feelings of drive and passion so you can suit up and head to a job you do not enjoy?

Come on now, why are you here? What do you want to do? Where is the meaning in your life and what does your life really mean!

Think about it...

YOU’RE PERFECTLY CAPABLE.
